Kwaku Flick Shares the Story Behind His Messiah Collaboration with Sarkodie
Ghanaian music star Kwaku Flick has opened up about how his hit collaboration with iconic rapper Sarkodie, titled “Messiah”, came to life—revealing that the opportunity came as both a surprise and a significant career moment.
In an exclusive interview, Kwaku Flick recounted how he initially doubted the news when his manager, Pablo Tunes, first mentioned Sarkodie’s interest in a collaboration.
I received a message from my manager saying Sarkodie had sent him a song. I honestly thought it was a joke because my manager is a very jovial person, he explained.
Despite his doubts, curiosity got the better of him. Kwaku Flick checked his WhatsApp and found a document from Sarkodie. Upon downloading it, he realized it was the track that would later become “Messiah.
“My manager asked me to check my WhatsApp, and surprisingly it was a document. When I downloaded it, it was the song. I was eager to jump on it immediately, but something came up, so I had to postpone the recording to the next day,” he shared.
According to Kwaku Flick, once he recorded his verse, the feedback from those around him was overwhelmingly positive. However, he remained nervous about whether Sarkodie himself would approve of his contribution.
“To be honest, I was a bit scared about whether Sarkodie would like it or not. But to my surprise, he loved the song—especially the intro. It was such a huge relief,” he said with gratitude.
The collaboration, which blends Kwaku Flick’s energetic style with Sarkodie’s lyrical finesse, has been widely praised by fans and music lovers across Ghana and beyond. The song’s success continues to highlight the rising talent of Kwaku Flick and reaffirms Sarkodie’s reputation for supporting emerging artists.
Messiah is now seen as a symbolic moment in Kwaku Flick’s career—a reminder of how a single opportunity can open doors when talent meets preparation.
