Celebrating the Life and Legacy of Prophetess Rebekah Nhyirah (Mama Becky)
In a deeply moving moment for the Christian community and the nation at large the Edumfa Heavenly Ministries has announced the One Week Celebration of the late Prophetess Rebekah Nhyirah affectionately known as Mama Becky. The event is scheduled for Sunday, April 27, 2025, at 1:00 PM at the Edumfa Prayer Camp in the Central Region — a sacred ground that has nurtured generations of believers.
The late Prophetess was the only daughter of the revered Prophetess Grace Mensah, also known as Aunty Grace (16) and Elder J.K. Mensah but also a powerful woman of God in her own right. Together her parents founded the historic Edumfa Prayer Camp — one of West Africa’s most spiritually significant revival grounds. Mama Becky was widely recognized as a spiritual torchbearer who carried forward the mantle of prayer, prophecy and service to humanity.
Her ministry touched lives beyond the borders of her immediate community. Known for her powerful intercessions, prophetic insight and deep compassion for the needy. Prophetess Rebekah stood as a beacon of hope to many. Her sermons resonated with a generation seeking divine direction and her prayers offered comfort in life’s darkest moments. For many she was more than a prophetess — she was a spiritual mother a counselor and a symbol of unwavering faith.
The announcement, issued by Pastor Benny Bedford, Head Pastor and Director of Ministries at Edumfa Heavenly Ministries described Mama Becky as a true servant of God whose life was marked by devotion, humility and an unshakeable commitment to the Kingdom work.
In her, we witnessed a rare blend of power and gentleness, strength and submission purpose and purity, the statement reads. Her legacy is etched not in monuments but in the transformed lives the tears wiped and the souls led to Christ.
This upcoming Sunday’s celebration of life is not just a ritual — it is a moment of national reflection. It calls on believers, friends and all whose lives were touched by Mama Becky to gather in solemn unity not merely to mourn but to honor a woman who gave her life for the spiritual upliftment of others.
The prescribed dress code — black and white — symbolizes both the mourning of her physical absence and the purity of her eternal rest in the Lord. The community will come together not only in tears but also in song, scripture and stories — remembering a woman who ministered with love, lived with divine purpose and labored tirelessly for the harvest of souls.
Indeed, her passing echoes the truth in Revelation 14:13: Blessed are the dead who die in the Lord from now on… they will rest from their labor, for their deeds will follow them.
As the sun sets on one chapter of Edumfa’s spiritual legacy, may the seeds planted by Prophetess Rebekah Nhyirah bloom for generations to come. Her journey may have ended here on earth but her light continues to shine — guiding the path of those still pressing toward the mark.
