Barça Set for UCL Semi-Final Showdown with Inter

FC Barcelona have officially booked their place in the UEFA Champions League semi-finals for the first time in six years after overcoming Borussia Dortmund on aggregate, despite a 3-1 defeat at Signal Iduna Park. The result sees Hansi Flick’s men progress to face Inter Milan in what promises to be an epic two-legged showdown.

Barça’s path to the final is now set, with the first leg against Inter scheduled for Wednesday, April 30 at 9:00 PM CEST at the Estadi Olímpic Lluís Companys, followed by the return leg at the iconic San Siro on Tuesday, May 6 at 9:00 PM CEST.

Despite their first defeat in 2025, Barça remain in high spirits. Head coach Hansi Flick has emphasized maintaining intensity and focus, taking a short break with the team after returning from Germany and preparing a single training session ahead of their La Liga clash against Celta Vigo.

Club president Joan Laporta described the semi-final berth as great news for Barcelona fans, affirming the team’s physical and mental strength. Everything is well-worked and under control, Laporta told the media, dispelling concerns about fatigue following the loss in Dortmund.

Meanwhile, Pedri has been nominated for La Liga’s Player of the Month for April, a reflection of his continued influence in midfield during one of the club’s most critical stretches of the season. With Barça still leading La Liga and eyeing Copa del Rey glory in the final against Real Madrid, April could be a historic month for the club.

Adding to the optimism is the return of Dani Olmo, who made his comeback during the Dortmund clash after recovering from injury. His presence offers Barça another attacking option heading into this high-stakes phase of the season.

Notably, only five members of the current Barça squad have prior experience in a Champions League semi-final — a testament to the youthful nature of Flick’s team and the club’s rebuilding journey in recent years.

As the countdown begins for the semi-final clash with Inter Milan, all eyes will be on the Estadi Olímpic, where the Catalan giants aim to take another step toward reclaiming their place at the top of European football.

With their strong league form, a cup final on the horizon, and Champions League dreams alive, FC Barcelona’s season is poised for a thrilling finish.
