Yaa Titi Slams Maurice Ampaw & Okatakyie Afrifa Over VP’s Health Claims

Popular Onua FM journalist Iron Lady Yaa Titi has strongly criticized fellow media personalities Lawyer Maurice Ampaw and Okatakyie Afrifa Mensah for their comments regarding the ill-health of Vice President Professor Naana Jane Opoku-Agyemang.

Speaking on her show on Onua TV, Yaa Titi condemned the two journalists for their unprofessional and misleading remarks concerning the Vice President’s condition. She accused them of spreading falsehoods and propaganda rather than adhering to journalistic ethics.

Maurice Ampaw, during his program on Wontumi TV alleged that the ruling National Democratic Congress (NDC) had a hidden agenda to remove the Vice President from power after using her to win the elections. His statement suggested a conspiracy within the party regarding her health.

Similarly Okatakyie Afrifa falsely claimed that Professor Opoku-Agyemang had suffered a stroke and accused the NDC of neglecting her health. He went further to allege that the party’s handling of her condition could lead to a fate similar to that of the late President John Atta Mills who passed away while in office.

Reacting to these allegations Yaa Titi did not hold back in criticizing both journalists describing them as empty-headed individuals who were only interested in spreading baseless propaganda.

These so-called journalists are making wild allegations without proof. It is time we hold such reckless media personalities accountable. If they continue misleading the public they should be dealt with to serve as a deterrent to others,” she stated.

She emphasized the need for responsible journalism and urged media practitioners to verify facts before making public statements, especially on sensitive national issues like the health of a high-ranking government official.

The Presidency recently issued a statement confirming that Professor Opoku-Agyemang had been taken to the University of Ghana Medical Center for treatment and was later flown abroad for further medical attention. However, the government has not provided detailed updates on her condition, leading to growing public speculation.

While critics argue that the government is not being transparent, others believe fake news and political propaganda surrounding her health are worsening the situation.

Yaa Titi’s criticism highlights the influence and responsibility of the media in shaping public perception. As Ghana continues to navigate political and social discourse, the need for ethical journalism and fact-based reporting remains crucial in preventing misinformation and public panic.

With the debate over the Vice President’s health still ongoing, many are now calling for the government to provide more clarity, while also urging the media to act responsibly in their coverage.
