Vice President Naana Jane Opoku-Agyemang Returns to Ghana After Medical Treatment in the UK

Vice President Naana Jane Opoku-Agyemang has returned to Ghana after undergoing medical treatment in London, United Kingdom.

Her arrival on Thursday afternoon at the Kotoka International Airport was marked by a warm welcome from President John Dramani Mahama and the First Lady Mrs. Lordina Mahama. A statement issued by the Presidency confirmed her return and expressed gratitude for the support she received during her time away.

Several senior government officials were present at the airport to receive the Vice President, including Mr. Julius Debrah, Chief of Staff at the Presidency, and Mr. Alex Segbefia Chief of Staff at the Vice President’s Office. Also in attendance were Reverend Professor J.K. Asamoah-Gyadu, the Presiding Bishop of the Methodist Church Ghana, and members of the Vice President’s family.

In a brief statement Vice President Opoku-Agyemang expressed heartfelt appreciation to the people of Ghana for their thoughts and prayers during her recovery. She also acknowledged the exceptional care provided by the medical staff at the University of Ghana Medical Centre (UGMC) as well as her doctors in the UK.

The Vice President extended special thanks to President Mahama and his younger brother, Mr. Ibrahim Mahama, for their continuous support and care throughout her treatment and recovery.

Her return is seen as a boost to the leadership of the country, as she resumes her official duties after weeks of medical absence.
