Veteran Broadcaster Kofi Asare Brako Breaks Down in Tears Over Regret of Not Raising Children in Christian Faith
Renowned Ghanaian broadcaster Kofi Asare Brako affectionately known as Abatay, was overcome with emotion during a recent radio interview as he opened up about the biggest regret of his life failing to raise his children with a strong Christian foundation. His deeply personal and emotional confession has since resonated with many across the country, sparking a wave of empathy and heartfelt reactions online.
Abatay a respected figure in Ghana’s media landscape and former presenter at Peace FM shared that his full embrace of Christianity came later in life. Sadly, by that time the opportunity to lay a spiritual foundation for his children had already passed. Choked with emotion, he said, If I had prioritised my faith earlier my children would have taken a different path. That’s my greatest regret.
His tearful admission served not just as a moment of reflection but also as a passionate plea to young people and fellow parents. He urged them to take their spiritual responsibilities seriously and to prioritize building godly homes from the start. According to Abatay, faith offers a sense of direction and purpose that cannot be found elsewhere.
Drawing inspiration from the Bible, he added a note of hope: It’s never too late. Just as Abraham was promised a child at 75, I believe God can turn lives around no matter how far we think we’ve gone.
His authenticity and vulnerability touched many prompting an outpouring of support on social media, particularly on his Facebook page. Ghanaians from all walks of life expressed admiration for his honesty, with some commending him for his bravery, while others offered prayers and messages of encouragement.
Many described his moment as a powerful reminder of the enduring importance of faith, the legacy we leave behind, and the lasting impact of the decisions we make as parents.
Kofi Asare Brako’s story stands as a sobering and inspiring call to action for families to cherish their time together, for parents to nurture the spiritual lives of their children and for individuals to never give up on transformation, no matter how late it may seem.
