Use Twi to Connect with More Ghanaians – Highest Eri Advises Musician Manye Fi

Ghanaian entertainment journalist Highest Eri has advised budding musician Manye Fi to consider incorporating Twi into her music if she hopes to connect more deeply with the Ghanaian audience and achieve greater success in the local music industry.

During a panel discussion on Hitz FM where Manye Fi appeared as a guest Highest Eri offered constructive feedback on the artiste’s heavy use of the Ga language in her songs. While acknowledging Manye Fi’s creativity and unique sound the entertainment journalist emphasized the importance of linguistic accessibility in the Ghanaian music scene.

I think you should learn one or two Twi let’s have a feel of that Ghanaian in your songs, she advised.

Highest Eri explained that although singing in Ga gives Manye Fi a distinct identity Twi remains the most widely spoken local language in Ghana. As such, incorporating even a few lines of Twi in her songs could significantly boost her relatability and popularity among the general public.

If you really, really truly want to break through in Ghana, at least you forget the Ga, she added, suggesting that a stronger focus on Twi would help Manye Fi reach a broader audience.

She further encouraged the musician to collaborate closely with her team to add Twi elements to her songwriting. According to her it doesn’t require an entire song to be in Twi  even a few lines could make a notable difference in how the music resonates with listeners.

The Twi depending on the kind of lyrics you’re writing I think you’re with a team that obviously can speak Twi  they can give you a line probably just to replace something in English with two or three lines in Twi, she said.

Manye Fi, known for her confident use of Ga and vibrant musical style, has been gaining attention in the industry for her bold and authentic approach. This advice from Highest Eri comes as a helpful guide for the rising star as she navigates the Ghanaian music landscape and works to expand her fan base.

With the right blend of linguistic diversity and her undeniable talent, Manye Fi could soon become one of Ghana’s most beloved new artists.
