Thousands Gather to Honour Late Hon. Daniel Kwasi Nsaful Eshun at One-Week Observation in Mankesim

 

Thousands of mourners from across Ghana and beyond converged at the Anaafo Durban Ground in Mankesim on Thursday, June 12, 2025, for the one-week observation of the late Honourable Daniel Kwasi Nsaful Eshun affectionately known as Sey Boy. The solemn event which began at 9:00 a.m. was a reflection of the deep respect and admiration many held for the late statesman.

According to mrwoode.com Hon. Nsaful Eshun who passed away recently was a well-known figure in the Ekumfi District and beyond having served his community in multiple leadership roles spanning governance, education, agriculture and health advocacy.

From 2010 to 2014, Hon. Nsaful Eshun served as the Assembly Member for the Ekumfi Abaka, Asokwa and Potwaben Electoral Area where he championed grassroots development and community participation in local governance. His tenure was marked by strong advocacy for infrastructure, education and social welfare.

He was a long-serving PTA Chairman of Abaka Methodist Basic School from 1997 to 2016. During this time he was instrumental in community efforts that led to the establishment of a Junior High School in Ekumfi Abaka which has since benefited countless students in the area.

In politics, Hon. Nsaful Eshun was a dedicated member of the New Patriotic Party (NPP). He served as Polling Station Chairman for Ekumfi Abaka from 2000 to 2025, making him one of the longest-serving polling station executives in the Central Region.

Outside of politics, he made significant contributions to agriculture and public health. In 2019, he was awarded Best Farmer for the Ekumfi District recognizing his dedication to farming and food production.

He also served as the longest community volunteer for the Polio Immunization Campaign in Ekumfi Abaka under the Ghana Health Service and supported community development through his work with the Adventist Development and Relief Agency (ADRA) between 1990 and 2002.

The final funeral rites for Hon. Nsaful Eshun are scheduled to take place from Friday August 8, 2025, to Sunday, August 10, 2025, at the Anaafo Durban Ground in Mankesim.

As the Ekumfi District and the nation prepare to bid a final farewell, Hon. Nsaful Eshun’s legacy continues to inspire a new generation of community leaders. He is remembered not just for the positions he held but for the lives he touched through his unwavering commitment to service.
