Shatta Wale Fires Back at Fraud Allegations: I’m a Very Clean Boy
Popular Ghanaian dancehall artiste Shatta Wale has broken his silence following widespread social media rumours linking him to a recent fraud scandal involving romance and inheritance scams.
The controversy began on June 18, 2025, when news surfaced that a group of Ghanaians had been arrested in connection with online scams targeting victims abroad. One of the suspects Isaac Kofi Oduro Boateng widely known as Kofi Boat has reportedly had past business dealings with Shatta Wale. This association quickly led to speculation about the musician’s potential involvement in the criminal activities.
However Shatta Wale wasted no time in clearing his name. In a video shared across his social media platforms the award-winning artist strongly denied any connection to fraud. He described the allegations as baseless and accused critics of deliberately trying to tarnish his image out of envy and hatred.
You people are watching my life and anytime there is an issue in Ghana you like to drag me into it, he said in the video.
Shatta Wale emphasized that his success is the result of hard work not fraud. He pointed out that many in the entertainment industry are quick to question his wealth simply because their own preferred artists have not achieved the same level of success.
You guys are making a mistake with my name. I am a very clean boy. Just because your artiste your industry favourite cannot pull the kind of things I can pull, you assume I am into fraud.
He went on to address assumptions made about his luxurious lifestyle including his ownership of a Rolls-Royce.
The white people coming here do their research. They are not stupid. They saw my Rolls-Royce and knew how I acquired the funds to purchase it. It’s music money. It’s not fraud; it’s hard work and dedication, Shatta Wale stressed.
The artist has received both support and criticism online but he remains firm in his stance that the accusations are simply attempts by detractors to bring him down.
As investigations into the alleged scam continue Shatta Wale has made it clear that he has no ties to criminal activity and will not allow anyone to drag his name through the mud.
