Prophet John Anokye Warns of Foreign Domination in Ghana’s Job Market

Prophet John Anokye, the Prelate of Worldwide Word Ministries, has raised concerns about the increasing dominance of foreign nationals in Ghana’s job market. He cautioned that if Ghanaian workers do not adjust their attitudes and work ethics, they risk losing even more employment opportunities to non-nationals.

Speaking at a press conference on Monday, February 10, 2025, at the church premises in Adjirigano, Accra, Prophet Anokye identified dishonesty, corruption, and theft among some Ghanaian workers as key reasons why employers are turning to foreigners for managerial positions.

According to the Prophet, these negative traits are discouraging employers and making it difficult for businesses to thrive. He warned that if the situation persists, more foreign nationals will take over jobs that were once dominated by Ghanaians, especially in the informal sector.

“As more business owners become convinced that non-nationals are more trustworthy than Ghanaians, we could see foreigners taking over positions that were once reserved for locals in the informal sector,” he cautioned.

To reverse this trend, Prophet Anokye urged Ghanaians to embrace truthfulness, integrity, and ethical conduct in their workplaces.

The press conference also marked the official announcement of the ninth-anniversary celebrations of Worldwide Word Ministries, also known as Hill City Church. The week-long event will culminate in a ‘Breaking of Bread Ceremony’ on Sunday, February 16, 2025, at the Hill City Auditorium.

Speaking on the theme ‘Greater Mandate,’ Prophet Anokye emphasized that the church is committed to being a results-driven, truth-proclaiming, and solution-oriented global ministry, guided by the Word of God and the Spirit of God.

Beyond the anniversary celebrations, Worldwide Word Ministries continues to provide spiritual guidance through its weekly programs, including:
• Sunday Services
• Wednesday ‘Fruit Bearing Services’
• Thursday ‘Global Prayer Palace’ Gatherings

The ministry also organizes special programs throughout the year, such as:
• Blood Factor Festival
• Altar for Altar
• Healing in Health
• Mysteries Conference
• Prophetic Arena (the church’s flagship event)

Through John Anokye Ministries, the church actively engages in school and community crusades, while its NGO, ICARE, provides support to the marginalized and underprivileged.

Additionally, Prophet Anokye leverages Worldwide Word Television and the church’s YouTube platform to reach a global audience with his message.

As Ghana grapples with challenges in the job market, Prophet Anokye’s message serves as a call for Ghanaians to uphold integrity and work hard to secure their future in an increasingly competitive job space.
