Poll Reveals 79% of Ghanaian Men Prefer Women Under 30 – Chris-Vincent Agyapong Sparks Debate

A recent poll conducted by Ghanaian lawyer and writer Chris-Vincent Agyapong has ignited heated discussions on social media after revealing that 79% of Ghanaian men prefer dating or marrying women under 30 as opposed to just 21% who favor women over 30.

Agyapong who is also the founder of GhanaCelebrities.Com carried out the survey via his Facebook page, where over 3,300 men participated. The poll asked a straightforward question:

As a man who would you want to settle down with or choose as a partner?

Respondents were given two choices:
1. A woman under 30
2. A woman over 30

After 24 hours of voting, Agyapong triumphantly announced the results to his over 100,000 followers, declaring: “The market has spoken!”

The poll has sparked fierce debate, particularly among women over 30, who challenged its methodology and conclusions. Some critics questioned whether the sample size of 3,300 was representative enough of the entire male population in Ghana. Others accused Agyapong of fueling ageist narratives that diminish the value of older women in relationships.

However, Agyapong dismissed these criticisms, arguing that traditional polls often use smaller sample sizes to draw conclusions about larger populations. He also mocked some over-30 women who allegedly attempted to sway the results despite clear instructions that only men should vote.

The University of East London graduate has been a vocal and controversial figure on social media, frequently sharing his unfiltered views on relationships, polygamy, and what he calls the “soft life” philosophy. Over recent weeks, he has warned men against dating women over 30, arguing that younger women are more “agreeable” partners.

His stance has made him a polarizing figure, with many women condemning his perspective, while a segment of men appear to agree with his views.

While the poll’s results seem to suggest a strong preference for younger women among Ghanaian men, experts caution against taking social media polls as definitive research. Factors such as personal biases, sample demographics, and social influences can heavily affect online surveys.

Nonetheless, the poll has reignited long-standing conversations about age, relationships, and societal expectations, particularly regarding marriage dynamics in Ghana.

As the debate rages on, one thing is clear: Chris-Vincent Agyapong has once again succeeded in stirring controversy and keeping the conversation going.
