Nurse Ashida Abass Nyasu Appeals for Support After Kidney Failure Diagnosis.
Ashida Abass Nyasu, a 29-year-old nurse at the Tumu Municipal Hospital in the Upper West Region is fighting for her life after being diagnosed with kidney failure. The diagnosis was made on January 14, 2025, at the Upper West Regional Hospital leaving the young mother of two in urgent need of a kidney transplant to survive.
Currently receiving treatment at the Korle Bu Teaching Hospital in Accra Ashida’s condition requires immediate attention. Doctors have recommended a kidney transplant to be carried out in India with an estimated cost of USD 18,500. This amount excludes additional expenses for travel accommodation and meals further increasing the financial burden on her family.
Ashida, who has spent her career saving lives now finds herself in need of life-saving assistance. Speaking emotionally about her plight she said, I have saved lives, now I need help to save my own. I want to be there for my children to watch them grow and to continue my work as a nurse. Please I am pleading for your support.
The nurse, who is currently breastfeeding her three-month-old baby is facing not only physical challenges but also emotional strain. Her husband and children are struggling to cope with the heartbreaking reality of her illness as they fear losing a beloved wife and mother.
