Musician Edem Reveals How He Took Subtle Revenge on Social Media Troll and Unpaid Promoter

Ghanaian musician Edem has opened up about how he dealt with disrespect and unpaid dues in the music industry, revealing a strategic and calculated approach to confronting those who crossed him. In a candid video shared on X (formerly Twitter) on May 21, 2025, the rapper narrated two personal encounters one involving a social media troll and the other with an event promoter who failed to pay him.

Recounting the first incident Edem said a young man had disrespected him on Snapchat, prompting him to devise a plan to teach the individual a lesson. According to the Toto hitmaker, he recruited a woman to engage the man in online conversation for six months, gaining his trust over time. Eventually, the unsuspecting troll agreed to meet at Titanic Beach, where Edem and his team confronted him.

Once upon a time somebody disrespected me on Snapchat. So, we made a girl talk to him for six months and he met us at the Titanic Beach, and we ‘talked’ to him,” Edem stated, using subtle language to describe the encounter.

In a second story, Edem highlighted the issue of unpaid performances, sharing a personal experience involving a promoter. He explained that a promoter once invited him to perform at Republic, only to refuse payment after the event. Rather than create a public scene, Edem and his team waited patiently. Two years later, when the same promoter reached out for another performance, they used the opportunity to claim the unpaid fee from the previous show.

“There was this promoter who called us for a show at Republic and after that, he told us he doesn’t have money, so we left him. Two years later, he called my team for another show. It was then we took the money and told him that it was for the payment for the show I played,” he said. “We don’t tolerate nonsense, just that we don’t make noise about what we do.

Edem’s revelations have sparked mixed reactions on social media. While some fans praised his patience and strategic thinking, others expressed concern over the methods used. The stories underscore the challenges many Ghanaian artists face in dealing with disrespect, online abuse, and exploitation in the entertainment industry.

Known for his lyrical prowess and strong Ewe identity, Edem continues to make waves not just with his music but also with his unapologetic and authentic personality reminding both fans and detractors that behind the calm persona lies a man who values respect and accountability.
