MP Jerry Ahmed Shaib Constructs Major Road Linking Gbawe Top Base to Mallam Junction.
Residents of the Weija-Gbawe Constituency in the Greater Accra Region are celebrating a major infrastructure milestone following the completion of a key road project linking Gbawe Top Base to Mallam Junction. The road, which was previously in a deplorable state, caused frequent vehicle breakdowns and generated excessive dust that posed health risks to road users and residents in the area.
The Member of Parliament for the constituency, Hon. Jerry Ahmed Shaib, spearheaded the construction of the road as part of his commitment to the development of the area.
In an exclusive interview with mrwoode.com, Derrick Kusi Nyametease, the Assembly Member for the area, expressed his gratitude to the MP for fulfilling this long-awaited need. “This road is one of the developmental projects we have been expecting. I am grateful to Hon. Jerry Ahmed Shaib for making this a reality. This road will significantly reduce traffic congestion and improve transportation in the area,” he stated.
Mr. Nyametease also pledged to collaborate with the MP to bring more development projects to the constituency.
Residents who spoke with mrwoode.com also lauded the MP for the initiative. They shared how the poor condition of the road had negatively impacted their lives, citing health challenges caused by dust pollution and the frequent damage to their vehicles.
“The dust from the road used to be unbearable, and it was affecting our health, especially for children and the elderly. Now, we can breathe freely, and our vehicles are no longer breaking down,” one resident remarked.
The newly constructed road is expected to ease transportation, reduce travel time, and improve the quality of life for residents. This development underscores the MP’s dedication to enhancing infrastructure and addressing the pressing needs of his constituents.
Hon. Jerry Ahmed Shaib has reaffirmed his commitment to working closely with local leaders and residents to ensure sustained development in the Weija-Gbawe constituency.
