The 23-year-old attacking midfielder shared his heartfelt reflections in a recent interview with NBC Sports, where he spoke passionately about what the national team means to him and the sense of responsibility it carries.

Kudus, who has become a key figure in Ghana’s national squad since his debut in 2019, has already scored 12 goals in 42 appearances for the four-time African champions. His impact on the pitch is matched by his sense of duty off it—serving as a role model for aspiring young footballers across the country.

It’s a huge privilege to represent our country of [nearly] 40 million people as one of the players for the Black Stars. It means so much to me, Kudus said.

Reflecting on his journey, Kudus recalled how watching Ghanaian football legends as a child shaped his dreams and ambitions. Icons like Michael Essien, Stephen Appiah and Asamoah Gyan were more than just players—they were beacons of hope and symbols of possibility for young talents like Kudus.

Growing up, I watched most of the legends playing for the team and they served as motivation for me. Now, I’m in that position, so I see it as a responsibility to do things right, set an example and be a good role model for the kids looking up to me.

The young star emphasized that his goal goes beyond personal success—he wants to inspire the next generation to aim higher and achieve even greater things.

I want to show them that it’s possible to achieve even greater things and do better than what I’m doing right now.

Kudus’ performances have drawn admiration not only from fans in Ghana but from across the footballing world. His flair, creativity, and determination on the field have made him a standout player in the English Premier League and a key asset for West Ham United.

Despite his rising international profile, Kudus remains grounded and connected to his roots. His commitment to Ghana and his desire to uplift and inspire the youth show that he’s not just chasing trophies—he’s building a legacy.

As the Black Stars continue their preparations for upcoming international fixtures and future tournaments, Kudus stands tall—not just as a footballer, but as a symbol of hope and pride for millions of Ghanaians.
