Renowned Ghanaian media personality Akumaa Mama Zimbi has been hit with a personal tragedy following the passing of her beloved mother Mrs. Agnes Mamle Dongotey.

On April 9, 2025, Mama Zimbi known off-air as Dr. Joyce Akumaa Dongotey-Padi took to her Instagram page to announce the sad news accompanied by a touching tribute that captured the profound bond she shared with her late mother.

In her emotional message the host of the popular relationship talk show Odo Ahomaso described her mother as a pillar of strength love and wisdom, whose legacy would forever remain with the family and the countless lives she touched.

Rest Well Mother. With deep sorrow and heavy hearts, we announce the passing of our beloved mother Mrs. Agnes Mamle Dongotey a.k.a grandma. A pillar of strength, love and wisdom Mum touched the lives of many with her kindness warmth and unwavering support. Though she may be gone from our sight her spirit and love will forever remain in our hearts. Rest well, Mum. Your journey here may have ended, but your legacy lives on. We love you always and forever,” Mama Zimbi wrote.
