Kevin Taylor Criticizes Kennedy Agyapong’s Presidential Ambitions
Controversial US-based Ghanaian social media commentator and political critic, Kevin Taylor, has publicly expressed strong doubts about Kennedy Agyapong’s suitability for the presidency of Ghana. In a recent episode of his show, With All Due Respect, Taylor bluntly stated that the outspoken politician is not presidential material.
According to Taylor despite Kennedy Agyapong’s efforts to project a refined and presidential demeanor his natural temperament and communication style do not align with the demands of the presidency.
“You are trying your best as a nice man but you were not born like that. You can’t even put two or three words together to make sense,” Taylor said during the broadcast.
He added, we all see they are coaching you, but naturally you cannot be refined. Let somebody just tickle you a little, and you will explode. There’s no way you can be President.
These remarks have sparked discussions on social media and within political circles, especially considering Kennedy Agyapong’s influential standing in the New Patriotic Party (NPP) and among grassroots supporters.
In response to the ongoing commentary surrounding his political future, Kennedy Agyapong has reaffirmed his commitment to contest for the NPP’s presidential flagbearer position in the 2028 elections. Speaking after his recent withdrawal from the NPP’s Thank You Tour—a decision influenced by concerns following a stabbing incident involving a student at the Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology Agyapong emphasized that no one can deter him from pursuing his political ambition.
“I want everybody to know, every party member to know, that I’m going to campaign and contest. Nobody can stop me from contesting for the flagbearer position,” he boldly declared.
Kennedy Agyapong, a former Member of Parliament for Assin Central, has long been known for his candidness and vocal presence in Ghanaian politics. His 2024 presidential bid generated significant interest and mobilized a large support base although he did not emerge as the party’s candidate. Now gearing up for 2028, he remains one of the key figures to watch in the NPP.
Political analysts suggest that while critiques like those from Kevin Taylor may resonate with some Ghanaians, Agyapong’s strong influence and popularity, particularly among the youth and party grassroots, cannot be overlooked. His next steps in the political arena are expected to shape internal party dynamics leading up to the next presidential race.
As the debate continues over who is best suited to lead the NPP and eventually the country, Ghanaians await the unfolding political drama with keen interest.
