Kevin Taylor Clashes with Nana Aba Anamoah Over Afenyo-Markin Comment

U.S.-based Ghanaian political commentator Kevin Taylor has recently responded to a social media post by renowned media personality Nana Aba Anamoah, in which she described the Minority Leader in Parliament, Alexander Afenyo-Markin, as a “gentleman.” Taylor’s reaction, perceived by many as insinuating ulterior motives, has ignited a wave of discussions and criticisms online.

In her post on X (formerly Twitter), Nana Aba Anamoah stated, “Afenyo is a gentleman!” Kevin Taylor replied, “Ah well, rent too is expensive,” a comment interpreted by some as suggesting an inappropriate relationship between Anamoah and Afenyo-Markin.

This is not the first instance of Taylor criticizing Anamoah. Previously, he referred to her as “Madam Fridge” in connection with allegations involving Serwaa Amihere and Henry Fritz, where it was claimed that Anamoah received a refrigerator from a friend of Fritz. Taylor also insinuated that Anamoah might have been acquainted with Equatorial Guinea’s former Director of Financial Crime Investigation, Engonga, during his visit to Ghana.

Taylor’s recent remarks have drawn backlash from various quarters. One X user commented, “Only a small, insecure man needs to belittle women to feel superior. If you’re so desperate for validation that you can’t handle anyone, especially a woman, having their own opinion, then it obviously says a lot more about your lack of character! You’ve got a lot of work to do.”

Another user added, “Try this on your wife like Avram said. You like disrespecting women too much. Why don’t you talk about @S_OkudzetoAblak, someone who has no job experience but only doing photocopy way back in school before entering politics. If you wanna be fair, be fair.”
