Kenpong Academy Sends Four Rising Stars to Europe

Kenpong Football Academy, one of Ghana’s fastest-rising football institutions has hit another major milestone by sending four of its promising talents to Europe for further development and professional opportunities.

The players—Nuhu Abdul Razak, Daniel Abrefa Asiedu, Boateng Prince Ofori and Smith Yankyerah—departed Accra yesterday and are expected to touch down in Belgium, Denmark, and Norway today, where they will begin the next chapter of their football careers.

Notably, Nuhu Abdul Razak is headed to Norway while the remaining trio are bound for clubs in Belgium and Denmark. These young players represent the growing reputation and international reach of the Winneba-based academy.

Before their departure, the quartet together with Kenpong Academy’s head coach JE Sarpong, paid a courtesy visit to former President John Agyekum Kufuor at his Peduase Lodge residence. President Kufuor who serves as the patron of the academy, gave his blessings and encouragement to the young talents, underscoring the importance of discipline, hard work, and patriotism as they venture abroad.

This move forms part of a broader international agenda the Academy has been actively pursuing in recent months. According to Coach Sarpong and his assistant, Felix Aboagye—a former Black Stars and Zamalek winger—more players from the academy are being lined up for overseas opportunities in the near future.

From modest beginnings, Kenpong Academy has grown into a formidable institution, providing professional coaching, quality infrastructure, and international exposure. The academy is not only contributing to the development of local football but also shaping future stars for the global stage.

The Academy’s founder and president, Kennedy Agyepong (popularly known as Kenpong), is currently on a European tour with his foreign partner, Adam Kwarasey, a former goalkeeper for Ghana’s national team, the Black Stars. Kenpong attributes the academy’s recent successes to its solid foundation and the comprehensive development structures in place, which ensure young talents are groomed holistically.

As Ghana continues to produce world-class footballers, academies like Kenpong are playing a crucial role in nurturing the next generation of stars. With more eyes now on Winneba, Kenpong Academy is poised to become a major hub for football excellence on the continent.
