Johns Hopkins Denies Record of Sansa Daly as Alumna; NHIA Appointment Revoked

The Johns Hopkins School of Medicine in the United States has officially responded to a request for credential verification concerning Anne Sansa Daly a Ghanaian woman who has recently faced public scrutiny over her claimed medical qualifications.

The inquiry was initiated by Reginald Sekyi-Brown, a Ghanaian pharmacist, who wrote to the Office of the Registrar of the prestigious medical school on May 25, 2025. Sekyi-Brown’s letter sought to confirm whether Sansa Daly had ever studied at the institution, what degrees she earned, and whether her qualifications authorized her to practice medicine in the U.S.

In response, Johns Hopkins School of Medicine stated clearly that they could not find any record of Anne Sansa Daly in their alumni or student database. “Hello, We are unable to locate a record under this name,” the school’s response read.

This revelation follows growing public concern in Ghana after Anne Sansa Daly’s appointment as a board member of the National Health Insurance Authority (NHIA). Several Ghanaians raised red flags, alleging that Daly’s medical credentials might have been misrepresented.

As a result of the controversy and the verification outcome from Johns Hopkins, President John Dramani Mahama has officially revoked her appointment and named a replacement to serve on the NHIA board.

This incident has sparked renewed calls for thorough background checks and transparent vetting processes for all public office appointments in Ghana, especially for roles in sensitive sectors like healthcare.
