You don’t have any idea the trauma one goes through when going through a divorce. It’s like you are now starting your entire life again, she said.

According to her settling for a younger man after a divorce can lead to disrespect from family members and mockery from friends. This she noted could make a woman feel uncomfortable in public with her partner.

It is also frustrating if after going through the divorce you settle for a younger man because your family will disrespect him. Even your friends will mock him, and you won’t even feel comfortable walking with him, she explained.

Empress Gifty who is currently married to politician Hopeson Adorye, shared her personal experience stating that she feels safer and more comfortable being with an older man. She believes that an older partner provides a sense of security and stability in a marriage especially in public settings.

But if the man is older than you you feel safe whenever you are with him. If I am with my husband, I feel comfortable because if you touch me he will come for you too, she added.
