Dennis Miracles Aboagye Condemns Kennedy Agyapong’s Camp Over Attacks on Dr. Bawumia

Dennis Miracles Aboagye a former Director of Communications for Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia’s 2024 campaign has issued a strong rebuke to members of Kennedy Agyapong’s camp for their recent public comments targeting the Vice President. According to Mr. Aboagye the remarks made by Agyapong and his associates do not foster unity within the New Patriotic Party (NPP) but rather promote divisiveness.

Speaking on Okay FM monitored by mrwoode.com on Monday, June 9, 2025, Mr. Aboagye expressed his deep concern about the tone and content of some of the statements emerging from Agyapong’s team particularly those that directly attack Dr. Bawumia. He stated that such actions go against the core values of the NPP which prides itself on decency, discipline and internal cohesion.

It is not in the nature of our party to wash our dirty linens in public or engage in politics of insults, Aboagye asserted. Dr. Bawumia has never been heard talking badly about someone just to win votes so why would they do that? This is the same approach they took that caused them to lose the 2023 NPP primaries.

Responding to claims made by Kwasi Kwarteng the spokesperson for Kennedy Agyapong who alleged that the recently concluded Thank You Tour was a disguised campaign for Dr. Bawumia Aboagye was quick to dismiss the allegation as baseless. He clarified that the tour which saw the participation of the entire national executive body of the party was meant to express gratitude to party members and supporters not to promote a particular candidate.

How can anyone say that it was a campaign when all the national executives were part of it?” he asked. It was a collective activity not a personal one. We were simply showing appreciation to those who have stood by the party.

Mr. Aboagye warned that the continuous use of divisive rhetoric by members of Agyapong’s camp could harm their chances in future internal elections. He emphasized that the NPP delegates are intelligent and will vote based on merit, character, and competence rather than tribal lines or smear campaigns.

If you go around making such claims and people vote against you, don’t turn around to play victim,” he cautioned. The NPP delegates know their party very well and will not be swayed by insults and propaganda.

As the NPP prepares for its next major internal contest to select a flagbearer Aboagye called on all aspirants and their supporters to engage in a campaign of ideas and mutual respect. He urged party members to put the interest of the NPP above personal ambition to ensure unity and victory in the 2028 general elections.
