Court Frustrated as Lil Win Fails to Meet Settlement Deadline in Martha Ankomah Defamation Case
The Accra High Court has expressed disappointment over delays in the ongoing defamation case involving popular Ghanaian actress Martha Ankomah and actor Kwadwo Nkansah, widely known as Lil Win.
Martha Ankomah filed a lawsuit seeking ₵5 million in damages after Lil Win allegedly made defamatory statements about her in a public interview. The actress claims the comments were false, damaging her reputation and affecting her career.
In a recent development, both parties had agreed to settle the matter out of court and were expected to file the official terms of settlement by April 1, 2025. However, Lil Win failed to appear in court on the scheduled date, and no settlement documents were submitted—much to the dismay of the presiding judge.
The judge, who had hoped that the out-of-court settlement would lead to a peaceful and timely resolution, voiced strong concerns about the lack of progress. The court has now issued a warning, stating that such delays could impact how the case will be handled going forward.
“This court expects parties in such serious matters to respect timelines and take proceedings seriously, the judge stated, urging both sides—particularly Lil Win—to comply with the directives of the court.
With the missed deadline casting uncertainty over the proposed settlement, the court may proceed with a full trial if no resolution is reached soon.
This case has drawn widespread public interest due to the high-profile nature of both celebrities. While Martha Ankomah remains firm in her quest for justice, the court is now closely monitoring the next steps from Lil Win’s camp.
As it stands, the legal battle remains unresolved and the coming days will determine whether the two parties can find common ground or face a drawn-out courtroom showdown.
