Chelsea Show Interest in Real Madrid Starlet Endrick, but Face Major Setback
Chelsea’s pursuit of top young talent continues as reports from Spain suggest the Blues have made a bold attempt to sign Real Madrid’s highly-rated Brazilian forward Endrick. However, their efforts have seemingly hit a dead end with Los Blancos rejecting a significant €70 million bid for the teenager.
Under the ownership of Todd Boehly and Clearlake Capital, Chelsea have aggressively targeted South America’s best young players. The club has already secured future stars like Estevão Willian and Kendry Páez while Andrey Santos is set to return from an impressive loan spell at Santos.
The Blues were initially interested in Endrick before he agreed to join Real Madrid from Palmeiras, and they still view the 18-year-old as a generational talent capable of leading their attack. However, Madrid remains adamant that the young forward is not for sale.
Since arriving in Spain, Endrick has found game time difficult to come by featuring in 29 matches across all competitions but mainly as a substitute. Despite scoring seven goals, he is competing with some of the world’s best forwards at the Santiago Bernabéu.
Chelsea reportedly saw this as an opportunity to lure the Brazil international to Stamford Bridge, believing he could develop into their long-term solution at striker. However, Madrid’s firm stance on keeping him suggests Chelsea may have missed their chance.
While Endrick’s move appears unlikely, Chelsea remain in the market for attacking reinforcements. The club has been linked with young prospects like Liam Delap and Strasbourg’s Emmanuel Emegha. However, given their recent struggles in front of goal, they may need a more experienced forward who can make an immediate impact.
With Madrid unwilling to sell Endrick and Chelsea still searching for a clinical striker, the Blues’ recruitment team faces a crucial summer transfer window as they look to strengthen their squad.
