Akrobeto Commends Asantehene Otumfuo Osei Tutu II for Heal Komfo Anokye Project.

Renowned Ghanaian TV presenter and comic actor, Akwasi Boadi, popularly known as Akrobeto, has showered praise on the Asantehene, Otumfuo Osei Tutu II, for his visionary efforts to restore the Komfo Anokye Teaching Hospital (KATH). In a video circulating on social media, Akrobeto, during a visit to inspect the ongoing renovations, expressed his admiration for the Asantehene’s commitment to improving healthcare in the Ashanti Region.

Akrobeto acknowledged the criticism that Otumfuo faced when he launched the “Heal Komfo Anokye Project” in November 2023, which aimed to raise US$10 million to rejuvenate the 70-year-old medical facility. Speaking during his visit, Akrobeto condemned those who insulted the Asantehene over the initiative and urged them to seek forgiveness.

“It was over a year ago when Otumfuo embarked on his project to renovate the Komfo Anokye Teaching Hospital and solicited help from people. Many people said some inappropriate things you cannot tell the elderly. I am standing here today. Anyone who spoke ill against Otumfuo should beg him for forgiveness,” Akrobeto stated.

In a powerful gesture of humility, Akrobeto went on his knees to thank Otumfuo Osei Tutu II, describing him as a ‘God-sent’ figure who genuinely cares for his people.

The “Heal Komfo Anokye Project” was initiated in response to reports of extensive structural damage and outdated equipment at KATH, which jeopardized the lives of both patients and staff. Constructed in 1954, the hospital’s wards had not undergone significant renovations since their establishment, leading to deteriorating conditions.

The Asantehene’s initiative focused on modernizing the facility to meet global standards. The first phase of the project began with repairs to the hospital’s leaking roofs. Otumfuo also called on individuals and corporate bodies to contribute generously to the ambitious project, which has received significant support.

During his TikTok-documented visit, Akrobeto toured one of the renovated wards alongside hospital staff, expressing his appreciation for the Asantehene’s leadership and commitment to the welfare of the Ashanti people.

The actor’s visit has further amplified public attention on the progress of the project, sparking conversations about the importance of preserving key national institutions like KATH.

As renovations continue, many Ghanaians have lauded Otumfuo Osei Tutu II’s dedication to restoring the pride of the Ashanti Region through this transformative initiative.
