Achimota Mile 7 Keep Fit Club Marks 10th Anniversary with Health Walk and Celebration

The Achimota Mile 7 Keep Fit Club has proudly celebrated its 10th anniversary today, Saturday, September 27, 2025, with a health walk and a series of fitness and wellness activities. The event which drew enthusiastic participation from both club members and the wider community, started at 5:30 AM and concluded at 3:00 PM.
The day’s activities began with a health walk from the Achimota Mile 7 Park to Ofankor Barrier continuing through Tantra Hill before returning to the park. The route not only offered a scenic yet challenging walk but also symbolized the club’s journey of endurance and commitment to community health over the past decade.
After the walk participants engaged in various exercise routines at the park, followed by a health talk delivered by qualified health professionals. The session focused on the importance of regular physical activity, healthy eating, and routine health check-ups, reinforcing the club’s mission to promote wellness in the community.
In line with their commitment to healthy living attendees were treated to a variety of fresh fruits, including watermelon, banana and grapefruit. Later in the day, a well-organized dinner was served creating a relaxed atmosphere for members and guests to reflect and network.
In an exclusive interview with mrwoode.com, Mr. Bismarck Asante the founding member of the club shared insights into the origins of the Achimota Mile 7 Keep Fit Club. He explained that the club was established in 2015 by a group of friends from Achimota Mile 7 who were passionate about promoting weekend health walks to foster unity and improve health in the community.
Mr. Asante also acknowledged several prominent individuals who have supported the club throughout its journey. He expressed deep gratitude to respected businessman Nana Kobo; the former Member of Parliament for Trobu Constituency Hon. Moses Anim; former Energy Minister, Hon. Herbert Krapa; the current MP for Trobu, Hon. Gloria Owusu; and the CEO of the Ghana Tourism Authority, Hon. Mame Rfua Houadjeto, for their consistent support over the years.
The 10th-anniversary celebration stands as a testament to the club’s lasting impact on the Achimota Mile 7 community, inspiring many to adopt healthier lifestyles while building stronger community bonds.
As the club looks to the future, it remains committed to expanding its reach and continuing to promote health, unity and wellness across Ghana.
