Osita Iheme Pays Emotional Tribute to Late Mentor and Father Figure in Nollywood

Veteran Nollywood actor Osita Iheme has moved fans to tears with a deeply emotional tribute to a late colleague who played a transformative role in his life and career. Known for his iconic role in Aki na Ukwa Osita revealed how the unnamed mentor whom he described as a father figure helped shape him into the actor and man he is today.

In his touching reflection Osita opened up about the struggles he faced at the start of his Nollywood journey. Feeling lost and uncertain about his future he recalled the turning point meeting fellow actor Chinedu Ikedieze and more significantly meeting a man who became his guide, mentor and source of hope.

Apart from acting he was one of those fathers that gave me advice that has helped me build myself today,” Osita said.

He recounted how this extraordinary man saw beyond his physical appearance and helped him see his height not as a limitation but as a unique asset. Use your weakness to bring out creativity, was one of the powerful life lessons the late actor instilled in him words that would go on to shape Osita’s self-worth and confidence in the industry.

The veteran actor also highlighted the intelligence and professionalism of his late mentor. Fluent in at least seven languages and known for interpreting scripts with lightning speed and accuracy the late actor often commanded higher pay than his peers. But rather than bask in his success, he would frequently share his earnings with less-paid colleagues.

Countless times we were paid and after he was paid he would reduce some money from his own and add to ours,” Osita shared, highlighting the late actor’s generosity.

More than just a colleague on set Osita described the man as a source of constant encouragement and inspiration someone who uplifted others and left behind a legacy of kindness and mentorship that few could match.

I wish he was still alive so that I could appreciate him every day but all the same, a legend never dies, Osita concluded.

The tribute has touched the hearts of many shining a light on the often-unseen bonds of mentorship in the film industry. As Osita continues to inspire with his talent and humility, he carries forward the values and wisdom of a man who helped him believe in himself when it mattered most.

Indeed, legends never die they live on in the lives they’ve impacted and in the stories still being told.
