Bill Asamoah Warns Public Against Social Media Scammers Using His Name

Renowned Kumawood actor Bill Asamoah has issued a stern warning to the public regarding the growing number of online scams being carried out in his name. The actor, well-known for his roles in local films and respected across Ghana’s entertainment industry, took to his official social media platforms to raise the alarm.

According to Bill Asamoah, fraudsters have been using his identity to promote fake charity schemes movie role offers and event participation opportunities all in a bid to deceive and extort money from unsuspecting fans.

These people are not connected to me in any way, the actor stated. I have not authorized anyone to collect money or run any promotions or charity initiatives on my behalf.

The actor revealed that in several reported cases the scammers promise movie roles or event slots in exchange for hefty sums, sometimes demanding as much as GH₵2,000 per person. These deceitful practices have led to financial loss and emotional distress for victims who genuinely believed they were interacting with the popular actor or his team.

Bill Asamoah urged the public to remain vigilant and report any such suspicious messages or requests to the nearest police station immediately. He emphasized that all official communications or initiatives involving him will be announced via his verified social media accounts or through legitimate media channels.

He also issued a strong warning to the perpetrators: “Anyone using my name to scam others will face the full rigour of the law. I will not sit back and watch people tarnish my name while preying on the innocent.

The actor’s message is a timely reminder for celebrities and fans alike to prioritize digital safety, verify information before making payments, and to report cyber fraud to the authorities.
