Thousands Mourn and Celebrate Mama Becky at Edumfa Heavenly Ministry”
In a remarkable gathering filled with love, faith and reflection the one-week celebration of Prophetess Rebekah Nhyirah affectionately known as Mama Becky, was observed on Sunday, April 27, 2025, at the historic premises of Edumfa Heavenly Ministry in the Central Region of Ghana.
Mama Becky, the only daughter of the late Prophetess Grace Mensah (popularly called Auntie Grace 16) and the late Elder J. K. Mensah left an indelible mark on the hearts of many. She faithfully continued the great legacy of her parents who were the founding pillars of the Edumfa Prayer Camp — once regarded as the biggest prayer camp in West Africa and now known globally as Edumfa Heavenly Ministry.
The one-week celebration drew an overwhelming crowd from across Ghana and beyond. Family members, traditional leaders, pastors, prophets, prophetesses, gospel musicians, lawyers, government officials, social media influencers, actors, and worshippers of all backgrounds came together in a moving show of unity, honor, and love.
Among the distinguished personalities who graced the occasion were celebrated gospel musician Cecilia Marfo, the renowned content creator and a blogger Mr. Woode, traditional ruler Nana Orkon Gyedom Okyem, esteemed leader Boakye Ansah and respected spiritual figure Prophetess Kate Asante, among many others.
Chiefs and elders from the Edumfa, Odumekyir-Abaka and Egyirkrom communities also played a significant role in the ceremony offering their blessings and support. Their presence reflected the deep roots that Mama Becky and her family have within the local and national spiritual community.
The celebration was filled with heartfelt tributes, soul-stirring worship sessions, and moments of reflection on Mama Becky’s life, characterized by humility, compassion and a profound dedication to the Christian faith. Many speakers highlighted her tireless work in nurturing souls and sustaining the mission of Edumfa Heavenly Ministry.
As announced during the service, the final funeral rites for Prophetess Rebekah Nhyirah will take place from Friday, November 14, 2025, to Sunday, November 16, 2025. This promises to be a grand and reverent occasion bringing together even more well-wishers to honor a woman whose spiritual influence touched countless lives.
Though she may have departed from the physical world, Mama Becky’s light continues to shine brightly through the ministry she upheld and the many lives she impacted. Her memory remains a beacon of hope, faith and perseverance for generations to come.
May her gentle soul continue to rest in perfect peace.
