Ngozi Sparks Debate Over Childlessness and Marriage Choices

A Nigerian woman identified as Ngozi, popularly known on Facebook as SPONTEXDEBULLDOZER has stirred strong reactions on social media following her bold and unconventional opinion about dealing with childlessness in marriage.

In a post shared on her Facebook page on Tuesday Ngozi said she would not hesitate to support her husband to marry another woman or even help arrange it herself if after ten years of marriage, they are unable to conceive and medical reports confirm the challenge is from her side.

She explained that in such a situation true love means putting one’s partner’s happiness and future first—even if it means sharing them with another person to fulfill the dream of parenthood.

“Ten years of marriage and no child… Medically certified the fault is from me I will marry a woman for my husband or support him to marry another and then adopt a child of my own!! she wrote.

However Ngozi added that if the medical fault is from her husband, she would propose an alternative plan—getting pregnant by another man. According to her, if her husband refuses the suggestion, then the marriage would have to end, as she believes it would be unfair to deny her the chance to experience motherhood when other options are available.

I will not ADOPT when I’m sure I can get pregnant and carry my child to full term just because my spouse is unable to biologically have one, she stated. That’s too much of a sacrifice to make!

Ngozi emphasized that her views are rooted in the deep belief that love should not be selfish. She insisted that if one truly loves their spouse, they would want them to enjoy the full experience of parenthood—even if it must come from another man or woman.

Her post concluded with her unique signature tone, saying:

Yes, my name is SPONTEXDEBULLDOZER and I chest this opinion with my full bressssssssss. Makachi!!!”

The post has since gone viral, drawing mixed reactions. While some praised her honesty and bravery in addressing a topic many shy away from, others strongly disagreed, saying marriage should be about standing by each other regardless of biological challenges.

Ngozi’s comments have reignited ongoing discussions in Nigeria and across Africa about infertility, societal expectations, and the pressure couples face to have children, especially within long-term marriages.

As conversations continue online, one thing is clear—Ngozi’s post has challenged many to rethink what love, sacrifice, and partnership truly mean in the face of adversity.
