John Dumelo Leads Environmental Cleanup at Okponglo, Donates GH₵10,000 to BuzStop Boys
Member of Parliament for Ayawaso West Wuogon John Dumelo has once again demonstrated his commitment to community development by leading an environmental cleanup exercise at Okponglo on March 31, 2025. The initiative which aimed to clear blocked gutters in the area saw the MP actively participating alongside renowned Ghanaian YouTuber Wode Maya and the BuzStop Boys a group known for their sanitation advocacy.
A viral video shared by SIKAOFFICIAL captured Dumelo working hard with a shovel removing sand and debris from the clogged drains. His hands-on approach won the admiration of many, reinforcing his reputation as a leader who is directly involved in addressing local issues.
As part of his contribution to the environmental campaign, Dumelo donated GH₵10,000 to support the clearance fee for the BuzStop Boys’ newly imported mini excavator which will be used for future cleanup projects.
Popular social media commentator Bongo Ideas reacted positively to Dumelo’s latest initiative advising him to remain humble and responsive to the needs of his constituents. In a post he stated:

This remark reflects growing public approval of Dumelo’s leadership style and his active engagement with the community.
During the cleanup exercise Dumelo also interacted with traders at the Okponglo traffic light who raised various concerns. His willingness to listen and address their needs has further strengthened his bond with the people.
Apart from sanitation efforts Dumelo has been tackling key development challenges in his constituency. Recently, he played a crucial role in solving traffic congestion at Okponglo Junction by collaborating with the Department of Urban Roads. This partnership led to the installation of a traffic signal controller, ensuring that previously non-functional traffic lights were repaired.
Since assuming office John Dumelo has remained dedicated to solving pressing issues within Ayawaso West Wuogon. His efforts in sanitation, infrastructure, and community engagement continue to earn him praise from both constituents and political analysts.
